Language Editing

Refers to the editing of documents written by researchers for whom English is not their first language. A language edit includes:

– a complete spelling, grammar, and style check

– thoughtful and accurate reworking into correct English (British or American), without loss of original meaning

– use of or conversion into APA, the Chicago Manual of Style, or other citation styles as required

– checking for compliance with specific journal or publisher styles and guidelines

– checking that in-text citations align with reference list or bibliography

– use of conference or journal templates, if required (e.g., CERME template)

– suggestions and/or assistance with flow and general readability of document, if required
