Developmental Editing

Refers to a more in-depth edit that includes work on the content of the paper, at any stage of development. A developmental edit includes:

– working with the author to develop and modify the logical flow of a paper either during or after the paper’s completion

– content editing, as required

– fact checking, as required

– editing to reduce paper length to meet conference or journal page limitations, if requested

– working with the author to combine two or more versions of the same paper, or two or more papers on the same topic, into a single paper, if requested
